During fall you can view Aquarius in the southern hemisphere and in spring time you can view it in the northern hemisphere. |
When you are looking for the Aquarius sign in the night sky you should look for the water bearer sign. Aquarius is known to be one of the oldest constellations of star. According to Greek mythology, Aquarius was someone called the Ganymede who was captured by Zeus and eventually Ganymede became the cup bearer for Olympics.
Some people also look for the figure of a boy in the constellation. The head is visible on the right side and you can see one arm hanging. The legs are slightly bent and on the whole it looks like someone is carrying water. This is what even the Egyptians believed in. within Aquarius constellation there are several prominent stars and globular clusters. One of the clusters is visible with the naked eye, but the others are not. The other constellations are not even visible through the normal telescope and you need a special one for that. The Saturn nebula is a part of the Aquarius constellation and comes exactly in the water bearer symbol. It is named the Saturn nebula because it has an appearance similar to Saturn when observed through a telescope. There is another one called helix nebula which looks like the helix structure.
